Glenn Gould School Fall Opera

The performance scheduled for November 7, 2020 has been replaced with this free online presentation
Find the livestream here!

Students from The Glenn Gould School’s vocal program perform two one-act operas, led by Music Director Peter Tiefenbach. Kurt Weill’s "The Seven Deadly Sins" is the satirical story of two sisters, Anna I, a practical and cynical singer, and Anna II, an emotional and impulsive but mysterious dancer. "Lucrezia," a chamber opera by composer William Bolcom and librettist Mark Campbell, is a zarzuela riff on Machiavelli’s "La Mandragola", where the comedy’s heroine Lucrezia, an intelligent seductress, takes charge of her own destiny.

Ravel's L'heure Espagnole and Puccini's Suor Angelica - GGS Spring Opera

The Glenn Gould School’s spring opera will be a double bill of two very different but equally entertaining one-act operas— starting with Ravel’s comédie musicale L’heure Espagnole, where I will be playing Ramiro, followed by Puccini’s heart-wrenching drama Suor Angelica (sung by my fabulous colleague Marta Woolner). Tickets can be found at the link below.

Arts & Letters Club Recital

Unfortunately, this recital is not open to the public, but I am thrilled to be performing for the members of the Arts & Letters Club at their afternoon recital series. I have performed with them before at a fellow Conservatory singer’s recital a few years back and they are gracious hosts and wonderful supporters of the arts and young artists in Toronto.

Siren Song, Jonathan Dove - GGS Fall Opera

My first performance with The Glenn Gould School as an Artist Diploma Student will be as Jonathan in Jonathan Dove’s opera Siren Song. A sordid and somewhat salacious tale of love and deceit— this modern opera tells the story of a young sailor in love with a woman he has never met and follows him as he falls deeper into a fantasy he has yet to confirm. This work is the perfect mix of contemporary opera’s complex and intricate details with it’s ability to tell very accessible and intriguing stories.

Tickets can be found at the link below, performances November 1 and 2.
